Seven

Today marks seven years (dating) with my wonderful husband! I can not believe it has been that long! I know that people blog all kinds of mushy crap all the time, so if that's not your thing, just skip right along. I love the chance to brag and rave about my husband.
Jeremy and I met at church on a pot luck dinner day in January of 2005. It was my first time to attend this church, but I knew people that attended there, so that was awesome. They asked me to stay for the pot luck dinner, and frankly, being a college student at the time, I don't think I would have ever said "no" to a home made meal. I got in line. In a few moments, I see a guy, who was further up the line, come back to where I was. He introduced himself and said he was one of the leaders of the college group at the church. He was really nice and sounded so smart. Although I couldn't remember his name, it was nice to have someone to talk too. After church, my mom called me to ask how it went. I said it went good, and that I met a nice guy from the college group. Immediately she says, "Was he cute?" I just responded, "So not my type," to which her response was, "How do you even know what your type is?" Score for the ol' mom. By March, we had become pretty close friends. The college group was very small, like 10-12 of us, so we would do lots of activities together. Our favorite hang out was hastings. We would spend hours there as a group, over coffee, just hanging out and talking. Somewhere in the midst of all those hang outs, I started to have feelings for him. I didn't really even realize this until I felt jealous when I saw another girl (who was very open about her feelings for him) talking to him. My first thought was, "I wonder what they are talking about?" My next thought was, "Wait, why do I care?" It was then that I knew he just may be my type.
I will never forget the day he asked me to be his girlfriend. We had gone to eat and had rented some movies, but there was no talk of it being a "date" of any sort...although, he did pay for my food. I remember him getting up to use the restroom, and I called my mom...telling her I really did like him and that he prayed before our meal. You don't understand. When he prayed at Joe's Pizza and Pasta, I literally got butterflies in my tummy. I was head over heels. I had never hung out, much less dated a guy who prayed. It was awesome. I basically hung up on my mom when he was walking back to our table, and was trying to play it all off really cool. We went back to my apartment, and watched a couple of movies, and then we ended up just sitting in front of his apartment talking in my car. It was general get to know you questions, and then we started talking about dating questions. At the end of our conversation, it got quiet. Jeremy cleared his throat and said, "I think I may be interested in dating you." In my head, I was jumping up and down screaming "YES!" Before I could say anything he said, "I'd like for us to each go home and pray about it, and if we feel the same way, we can make it official."
Needless to say, we made it official. Our relationship has been amazing. We really do compliment each other so well, and I do believe God sent Him straight to me. He has been the biggest blessing of my life. I can't imagine life without him. I really do love him with all of my heart. I could keep typing right now, but I think you all get the point. April 16, 2005 will always be special in my heart. I am so excited to see where the next seven years brings us.
