Picnic

Today Natalee asked me if we could have a picnic. It is a little windy out, but why not? Here are some pictures from our fun lunch.

That's all for now! We love having picnics outside, and I only see this happening more as the summer approaches us!

20 Weeks

So, we actually haven't started on the nursery at ALL yet. Isn't that the reason people find out what they are having?! It's been a slow going process, but I think we are now at the point where starting is right around the corner! I am so excited to get started on the boys room. I am a little nervous as to where two cribs will fit and trying to find a recliner that doesn't take up half a wall (seriously, why are the all so big?!). This room is currently the guest bedroom, so that has been the first hitch in our giddy up....the bedroom set. Well, I got it sold, now I just need to get it cleaned out and ready for pick up. I swear I am doing this today during nap time. After we get the bedroom set out of the way, and I get in there and deep clean like Queen Elizabeth will be arriving, we are going to texture it...and by "we" I mean "Jeremy." He helped get me into this mess, so I think it's only fair! LOL To be honest, he's textured almost every room in our house, and I just love how it turns out, so I know he will do a great job. I cannot wait to see that room re-textured. It is so ugly right now. It's the only room in this house that I haven't touched with a paint brush. It's this peachy cream color, that has made do for four years now, so obviously I didn't hate it that much. I am hoping some form of progress begins in the next two weeks.
Baby Shower!! Yes, the baby shower is right around the corner too! I am super pumped! I can't wait to see what all the boys get, especially since we have nothing "boy" and that we are having two! The shower is on May 6th. I am currently working on their pirate scrapbook. I made a pregnancy scrapbook for Natalee where I journaled and posted pictures of the belly every two weeks. I am excited that I have done this for them too. In case you haven't figured it out, the nursery will be done in pirates! I can't wait to bring home our little "treasures." Another plus to having a baby shower, is that I will get a little pampering done for myself! YAY for haircuts and maybe even a pedicure and of course a new outfit for the occasion! I haven't bought any new maternity clothes thus far, so I am thinking now is the time to splurge a little. The shower invitations are the cutest things I have ever laid my eyes on! It reads,
"Yo ho Yo ho, we're full of joy!
The Glovers are expecting
twin baby boys!
Please join us for a shower honoring
Krystole Glover
Sunday, May 6th, 2-3:30 pm
Treasure Sites at: Target Walmart, Babies "Aarrgh" us."
Seriously, shut up...that's adorable.

As far as 20 weeks go, I am still feeling pretty good. I have been super tired, but I am sure this is only the beginning of that! My back is achy quite a bit too, but I think that may be due to not getting enough exercise. It feels so much more arched already than I ever remember it feeling with Natalee. The belly is definitely growing. I am feeling them both kick and move now. Jeremy felt one of them move for the first time on April 16th and we both saw a physical kick on April 18th. It is so weird to feel so many arms and legs floating around in there! I still need to take my 20 week picture, tisk tisk, but I will do it, and I will upload it when I do! Our next appointment is this Friday the 27th! We have a two hour sonogram slot and a doctor appointment to follow! I can't wait to see our little guys and get more pictures! God is so amazing and we are feeling 'doubly' blessed at this time in our lives.

Seven

Today marks seven years (dating) with my wonderful husband! I can not believe it has been that long! I know that people blog all kinds of mushy crap all the time, so if that's not your thing, just skip right along. I love the chance to brag and rave about my husband.
Jeremy and I met at church on a pot luck dinner day in January of 2005. It was my first time to attend this church, but I knew people that attended there, so that was awesome. They asked me to stay for the pot luck dinner, and frankly, being a college student at the time, I don't think I would have ever said "no" to a home made meal. I got in line. In a few moments, I see a guy, who was further up the line, come back to where I was. He introduced himself and said he was one of the leaders of the college group at the church. He was really nice and sounded so smart. Although I couldn't remember his name, it was nice to have someone to talk too. After church, my mom called me to ask how it went. I said it went good, and that I met a nice guy from the college group. Immediately she says, "Was he cute?" I just responded, "So not my type," to which her response was, "How do you even know what your type is?" Score for the ol' mom. By March, we had become pretty close friends. The college group was very small, like 10-12 of us, so we would do lots of activities together. Our favorite hang out was hastings. We would spend hours there as a group, over coffee, just hanging out and talking. Somewhere in the midst of all those hang outs, I started to have feelings for him. I didn't really even realize this until I felt jealous when I saw another girl (who was very open about her feelings for him) talking to him. My first thought was, "I wonder what they are talking about?" My next thought was, "Wait, why do I care?" It was then that I knew he just may be my type.
I will never forget the day he asked me to be his girlfriend. We had gone to eat and had rented some movies, but there was no talk of it being a "date" of any sort...although, he did pay for my food. I remember him getting up to use the restroom, and I called my mom...telling her I really did like him and that he prayed before our meal. You don't understand. When he prayed at Joe's Pizza and Pasta, I literally got butterflies in my tummy. I was head over heels. I had never hung out, much less dated a guy who prayed. It was awesome. I basically hung up on my mom when he was walking back to our table, and was trying to play it all off really cool. We went back to my apartment, and watched a couple of movies, and then we ended up just sitting in front of his apartment talking in my car. It was general get to know you questions, and then we started talking about dating questions. At the end of our conversation, it got quiet. Jeremy cleared his throat and said, "I think I may be interested in dating you." In my head, I was jumping up and down screaming "YES!" Before I could say anything he said, "I'd like for us to each go home and pray about it, and if we feel the same way, we can make it official."
Needless to say, we made it official. Our relationship has been amazing. We really do compliment each other so well, and I do believe God sent Him straight to me. He has been the biggest blessing of my life. I can't imagine life without him. I really do love him with all of my heart. I could keep typing right now, but I think you all get the point. April 16, 2005 will always be special in my heart. I am so excited to see where the next seven years brings us.

He is Risen!

Making Cupcakes!
We started our Easter celebration, by making a batch of Easter cupcakes! I was really excited that Natalee could still wear the shirt I made her last year. She picked out the cake batter, so of course it was pink. She loves to help in the kitchen, especially when her Grammie is involved.
Official Cake Tester!
Of course when we were done stirring, she got to lick the spoon.
She said she "loved pink cake!"

Mommy and Natalee in the Kitchen!
She got to help me put the batter in the cupcake wrappers. She thought she was pretty big stuff! Frankly, I did too! I can't believe she is old enough to help as much as she does! I love this little girl, and all the memories that we are making.

Yummy!
The finished product. I don't think we will be on Cake Boss any time soon,
but they sure were tasty! :)

First time to draw on her own egg!
We then started to dye our Easter eggs. We've always colored on them in crayon, and them dipped them in the dye. You have to write your name on the egg...and we always make one for our special loved ones that have passed on. I love this tradition.
Our family dying eggs!
Here we all are dying our Easter eggs. She had so much fun this year. She was very independent (of course) and wanted to dip and stir the egg by herself, which I mainly let her do. I forgot to get a picture of all of our eggs completed. There's just something about Easter-dyed eggs that make for the best deviled eggs around the next day!

Miss America, watch out!
Here is Natalee with the two eggs that she colored with crayons, picked the dye color, and helped dye the eggs. She was very proud and excited. Of course she wouldn't stand still for the picture...but I think this pose is a winner.

Fancy Nancy
Easter morning, she was so excited! She woke up around 7:30 and whispered, "The Easter bunny came and filled up my basket," and then yelled, "It's EASTER time!" She literally RAN out while squealing something fierce and was so excited to see her basket full of goodies. Some of her favorite things were the Fancy Nancy Easter book I found, a Bible story book, and a "fancy hat" as she called it. I don't know why I even bothered to buy her anything for Easter, because Grammie Easter bunny also came...
Spoiled Rotten!
Natalee is so very loved by that Easter bunny. Don't worry Grammie bunny...next year, when we have three kiddos at Easter, I am sure I will leave the Easter shopping up to you! :) LOL

Love the early morning sleepy shots!
Getting the hang of it...
So proud to have found this one!
She loved hunting her 8 little ladybug eggs (each filled with one jellybean!) and I also got the Resurrection eggs that I blogged about done, which she also loved! She was so excited when she would find another egg. It is fun watching her be "proud" of herself. She was also very pumped when she realized that there were jellybeans in them!
I see you egg...
Easter Breakfast at the Church.

Jeremy, Natalee and myself!
Easter 2012
We then went to church, the real reason we celebrate Easter. Our church always does a big Easter breakfast, and an Easter egg hunt. Here is our sweet girl enjoying some bacon, blueberry pancakes and eggs. She loves to eat, takes after her mommy! Even though she was mixed in with a lot of older kiddos on the egg hunt, she did quite well. Next year, she will be all over the place I am sure! I loved her dress this year, even though I didn't know if I liked it at all at first. She looked just like an Easter Angel...of course I may be biased, but I don't care. :) After one of the prayers in church, she said, "Amen," really loud and Texan like. Everyone laughed at her and thought she was the cutest thing. She also told the Easter story in her own words: "Jesus died on the cross (toss), that made Mary sad, Jesus is Alive, Jesus went to Heaven, now Mary is happy!" I think that is a pretty darn good start! I love seeing her grow with God, it makes my heart so happy.

Get in my belly!!
After church, we came home and ate Easter lunch, yes you should be jealous. It was so good. One of the best things about being pregnant during any holiday is the amount you can get away with eating! Now, put that on top of twin boys...this momma got her fill! I think I looked a little more pregnant for the next three days!

She loves her Grammie!
Grumps, Grams, Natalee and Pa!
Us.
Natalee and her baby brothers on Easter.
Hunting eggs, again.
I found one!
Sweet girl.
Love this one, even though she is staring off into the deep blue sea,
she was really watching the dog.
Trying to get a smile...
She loved her "fancy Nancy" hat.
Of course I had to take her for her own little photo shoot too. What's Easter without a million pictures in your fancy new dress? She has me wrapped around her little finger, actually rephrase...she has everyone wrapped around her little finger! She is so loved, and I just can't imagine my life without her!

They look just alike her.
Feeding the Easter bunny.
So many bunnies, so little carrots.
The day after Easter, we had the privilege of feeding the Easter bunny! Natalee was so excited, and not scared of them at all. She didn't like all of the flies that were by the bunnies though, and told us that about a million times (I really don't think I am exaggerating on that!).
We also flew a kite, which I did not get a picture of! I think my mom did, so I will have to harass her to send one to me. It was her first time to fly a kite, and she did it like a champ. Seriously, you'd think she would have been flying kites for at least two years now!

Ready, Set, Go!
Such a big girl!
After flying a kite, we took a stroll to the park. She had a lot of fun, but really only wanted to swing. This was her first time to sit and swing in a big girl swing! She was pretty upset when we had to leave. She wanted to be "pushed higher" and daddy was ok with that, which made this mommy nervous. She did great though, never falling off. I made her little outfit, my first time to make capris! I love how it turned out. She loves her "toss" (cross) shirt, and will usually retell the Easter story when she realizes she is wearing it.

Over all, we had a great Easter weekend. It was filled with family, food, and fun. I have always loved our Easter tradition, and look forward to seeing how it will look next year with a three year old and two 8-9 month old boys!

18 Weeks

I cannot believe that I am already 18 weeks along! I am starting to feel them move really well, which is so weird! They are just everywhere in there! I will feel a kick in my right ribs, immediately followed by a kick in the bladder. It is so crazy. I am feeling well. My back isn't hurting anymore, which is awesome, but it does get tired. Food is starting to be my friend again, also awesome. At this point, by ten o'clock, I am very sleepy and ready to hit the hay. I still have not gained any weight. The realization that we are having twin boys is finally starting to set in. According to a website for twins, they weigh about 7 oz each and are about 9 inches long now, and 142 days left until our due date, which is September 9th!
Really not a fan of this picture, but I guess it will do.
18 weeks
4-8-12
Our shower is being planned, outfits are being bought, guest bedroom redo is right around the corner!
I have sold our bedroom set that we had in the guest bedroom, which was the first step that needed to get done. Now, I need to get the energy to get it all cleaned out so they can come and pick it up and get it! I am crossing my fingers for this weekend. We also have sold the swamp coolers. I am very excited about this, because it means we don't need them anymore! We are LOVing the central heating and air. It has made me fall in love with my house one hundred times more. We feel so blessed that we were able to afford to have it done before this next summer hit. The money that we are earning from selling some of our stuff, will go to help us afford stuff for the boys room. We are going to re-texture their room before we paint it. I can't wait to see that happen! It has very thick and icky texture, so I am dreaming of those smooth textured walls, and Jeremy is a pro at it, he's almost redone every room in our house!
We have the bedding picked out. I fell in love with it when I was pregnant with Natalee. I am so excited that we will now get to have it! Their nursery will be done in pirates. I just can't get enough of this bed set I am pumped to get it and get started! The best part is the personal touches you give it to make it your own. It will look nothing like this picture, minus the bedding of course, don't worry, I will keep you posted on the updates!

Isn't it adorable?!
Our next appointment is not until Friday, the 27th. I am counting down the days. We get to have another sonogram, and also see the doctor. I will make sure that they are still sure they are seeing two boys! I cannot wait to see them again. Every time we go in for a sonogram, it's just mouth dropping good. It is so amazing to see them both up there on the screen. God is so good.

Resurrection Eggs

Now, I love Easter just as much as the next person. My brother (who is 24) and I, still dye Easter eggs every year...and get Easter baskets. Yes, we are spoiled, yes my mom thinks we are still children, and yes I am ok with all of that. Now that Natalee Grace is in the picture, we kind of play it off like, "we are really doing it for her," but lets be honest, it's still just for us. Anyway, back to Easter. It is so easy (and fun) to get all wrapped up in the fun of it. Let's be honest, who doesn't love filling up a basket full of goodies for their cute little bunnies to find on Easter morning? Who doesn't love dying Easter eggs and having competitions to see who's is the best (mine)? Who doesn't love hunting Easter eggs? Ok, I am sure there are some of you who really don't...but I will just say it's because your Easter was never as cool as ours. I love everything about Easter, but I don't want to forget the TRUE reason of the celebration. Jesus. I want Natalee to grow up knowing why we celebrate. I want her to know the love of her Savior. I want her to know Him. I want to teach her about Him. I want her to grow up knowing that there is nothing that she can do that will separate His love from her. I want to take as many opportunities as possible to share God's word with her. So, with all of that in mind, I found this on pinterest (where else?), and will be making it, and wanted to share it with you all. I wish I was a cooler blogger and new how to link you to this persons blog and such, but I am not. So, I copied and pasted her blog information. I am sure you can find it on pinterest if you are interested in putting it on one of your awesome boards...or it will just give you an excuse to get onto that amazing site.

Supplies:
  • Six empty plastic eggs
  • Stickers or markers
  • Heart sticker
  • Band-aid
  • Paper cross
  • Tomb formed out of clay
  • Rock
1)  Using stickers or a marker, put a letter on each egg to spell the word Easter.
2)  Using the pictures below, fill each egg with the corresponding item.
E is for Each of us.  God loves everyone.
(Heart sticker)
A is for A broken world, so He sent His Son.
(Band-Aid)
S is for our Sins that Jesus took away.
(Paper cross)
T is for the Tomb where He lay for three whole days.
(Clay tomb)
E is for the Empty tomb.  The stone was rolled away!
(Stone)
R is for the Risen Lord.  Jesus is alive today!
I shared the story of Easter with my little ones opening each egg as we went through this poem I wrote.  Of course, I added extra narration as well!  You can easily store the eggs in a small plastic bag or basket with a copy of the poem.
“Easter”
E is for Each of us.  God loves everyone.
A is for A broken world, so He sent His Son.
S is for our Sins that Jesus took away.
T is for the Tomb where He lay for three whole days
E is for the Empty tomb.  The stone was rolled away.
R is for the Risen Lord.  Jesus is alive today!
I am so grateful for crafty toddler people. I can't wait to make this tomorrow, and to share it with Natalee on Easter morning.

In Other News...

It has been a busy three weeks around the Glover household. We are happy and proud to announce that we now have central heating and air in our house! This has been an ongoing project (thought process) for the past three years. Let me start from the beginning....
We LOVE our house! It is two story, 2,000 square feet, in a nice neighborhood, 5 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, formal dining room, and really cute porch with a porch swing. We fell in love with this house the moment we drove into the driveway for the first time. This house was VERY ran down. Dirty and outdated barely described it. It had been on the market for 10 months, and therefore the price had dropped low enough that it was now in our price range. Now, neither my husband nor I have ever lived in a house with central heating and air, so when we were told it didn't have one, we both thought it was just fine, and we could upgrade it later. We moved in, painted, and made ourselves at home. After the first year in our home, we decided to start getting some estimates for the cost of central heating and air. This was when the sticker shock slapped us right in the face. The lowest estimate we could find was right at $10,000. There was NO way we could afford that. We never expected it to be that expensive. We just decided to hold off another year, and try to figure out what to do. We looked at refinancing our house, using student loan money, getting out a bank loan...and still, didn't know what to do.
My parents had central heating and air installed in their house in 2010. Talk about jealous!! They found an awesome company, and they had it completely done in two days! We decided to give them a try, and let them give us an estimate. $5,500!! That was pretty much half of the cost! We were so excited, and made plans to have it installed summer of 2011. That was until, they informed us that we needed all the electrical stuff updated on the outside of the house. Our house didn't have enough power to have the unit installed. BRICK wall...again. The lowest estimate we could find was $3,000. Ouch. We didn't have that money, plus the $5,500 for the central heating and air, so once again, we decided to just wait. 2011 summer was one of the HOTTEST summers I have ever lived though. Our swamp coolers could not keep up. They were always breaking down, not running at all, leaking water....what a mess! We knew after last summer that we just could not go through another one like that ever again. We were miserable inside of our own home.
This brings us to this year. I am now pregnant (due in August) with twin boys, and the thought of enduring another miserable summer, while ginormous, made me want to cry. We asked around our church (why didn't we think of this sooner?) to see if there were any electricians. Sure enough, the "candy man" as many of the children in our church call him, is an electrician, and was more than willing to do the job for us! He came over, and had all of the electrical work done in ONE day! He knew the people to call to get the inspection done, he made all the calls, it was approved, and we were one step closer to our goal! The best part, he only charged us $1800. Thank you Lord! Next, we called up the same company that my parents used. It had been over a year since we received the estimate for $5,500, so we were really hoping that it hadn't gone up too much. We called, and the estimate hadn't changed! The best news, they could be there in two days to start on it, and be finished in another two days!! They came over, the nicest people, and started on the job. More than half way through, they tell us we are going to have to hire a plumber. OH NO. How much will this cost, because frankly, we have little money left over?! The gas line that they needed to tie the unit into had been cut off. We called a plumber, and after a lot of back and forth, got an estimate for $220. We can afford that. It was finally official. We would have it all done and completed by the end of the week!
We've now had it for 4 days, and talk about life changing. We may not have any money left in savings, but it was SO worth it. I enjoy our house now. I enjoy being at home. I enjoy not having to worry if Natalee's room is too hot or too cold. I enjoy the blessings that God sent us. I enjoy the patience that we've had. I enjoy everything.
The next project is to spray in more insulation into the attic (2nd story). It is not insulated well at all, therefore the upstairs is still pretty toasty. When we know that we are going to spend time up here, we just touch it down to around 69 or so downstairs, so the cool air will stay on for a while. We are hoping to have this project completed in the next 2 or 3 weekends, and then the long process will finally be complete.
We are so thankful. YAY for being a "cool" family.
